Educational Overview


The mission of St. John XXIII's educational apostolate is to guide individuals to:

  • Respond to God’s call to personal conversion
  • Form a Christian community
  • Grow in knowledge and culture, become enlightened and enlivened by faith
  • Shape society in the spirit of Gospel freedom, justice and love

There are six tasks of Catechesis:

  • Promoting knowledge of faith
  • Liturgical education
  • Morality formation
  • Education on how to pray
  • Education for community life
  • Missionary initiation


There are 10 primary areas of Catechesis:

  1. Early childhood
  2. Catholic schools
  3. Children
  4. Adolescents
  5. Young adults
  6. Adults
  7. Families
  8. Elderly
  9. Persons with disabilities
  10. The marginalized
