Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Sharing the Gospel

“Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." ~ Mark 10:14

Children's Liturgy of the Word is held on the second Sunday of each month during the 8 am Mass. All children ages three or four through the beginning of second grade are invited to participate.

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a wonderful opportunity for small children to gather, pray together, read and talk about the readings of the day at their level. It's also a special time for parents to focus on the scripture readings and homily.

Here's how it works: The children begin Mass with their families. Prior to the scripture readings, the priest invites children to come forward. The children then process to the parish center for their Liturgy of the Word with volunteers who are dedicated to children's faith development. During the Preparation of the Gifts, the children come to the altar for a blessing from Father, then return to their families.

We'd love to offer Children's Liturgy at every Mass. If you'd like to assist with this special  parish ministry, please contact the parish office to volunteer.
